Privacy policy
Last updated 31 October 2026.
I’m Ben Hoare-Ward, an independent developer in Australia, and I run Numbat Nudge. “I” and “me” in this policy mean me. You can reach me at hello@numbatnudge.com.
My promises
- No ads in any app.
- Your data is never sold or shared.
- Fair, clear pricing.
This website
The site has no accounts and sets no cookies of its own. It collects the following through the services that run it.
Hosting
The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any host, Cloudflare receives your IP address and details about your browser and the page you asked for, so it can deliver the page and keep it secure.
Light and dark mode
The site follows your device’s light or dark setting. If you use the switch at the top of the page, your browser remembers your choice on your device so the site looks the same next time. It is not a cookie, I never see it, and it is not sent anywhere.
Visit counts
I use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. Cloudflare says it does not use cookies or track people across sites. I don’t use the numbers to identify you.
If you email me, I receive your email address and your message. I use them to reply, and keep the email for as long as I need it to help you. Emailing me doesn’t add you to the mailing list.
Mailing list
If you sign up on the home page, I keep your email address and the date you signed up. The list also records when you confirm your address, and whether you’ve unsubscribed. I only add you to the list after you confirm your address by email.
I use your address to email you when public testing for One Job opens, and now and then about app launches and new apps from Numbat Nudge. There’s no newsletter, and I never sell or share your address.
Buttondown is the email service that stores the list and sends my emails. It is based in the United States, so your address is held outside Australia. It handles your address for me, under an agreement that limits it to that. Buttondown also records technical details such as your IP address and email program. Its privacy policy has the detail. I’ve set the list not to track whether you open my emails or click links in them.
If you reply to one of my emails, Buttondown handles the reply on its way to me. You can also email hello@numbatnudge.com directly.
Every email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing stops the emails straight away. To have your address deleted from the list completely, email me and I’ll remove it.
The apps
No app from Numbat Nudge shows ads, and I never sell or share your data.
One Job
This section covers One Job version 0.1. The short version: One Job doesn’t collect your data. Everything you put into the app stays on your iPhone. I can’t see it, and nothing is sent to me or to anyone else.
What the app stores
To do its job, One Job keeps the following on your iPhone:
- The things in your house and their groups, such as “Aircon” in “Inside”. For a vehicle or pet, this can include its name, type, make and model, and dates such as a rego due date.
- Your jobs, how often they’re due, and when each one was last done.
- Your completion history, including any notes you add.
- Your settings, such as your available days, date changes, reminder times and hemisphere.
This data is stored in the app’s own storage on your device. The One Job widgets read the same data through a shared space on your phone (an App Group) so they can show today’s job and mark it done. That shared space is also on your device only.
What the app doesn’t do
- It doesn’t send your data to me or to any server. The app makes no network connections of its own.
- It has no accounts or sign-in.
- It has no advertising, analytics or tracking, and contains no third-party code that does.
- It doesn’t ask for access to your location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone or health data.
- It doesn’t sell or share your data, because it never has it.
Reminders
One Job’s reminders, such as the morning reminder and follow-ups, are local notifications. They’re scheduled on your iPhone by iOS and don’t pass through any server. You can turn them off in the app or in the iPhone’s Settings at any time.
Backups and exporting
You can export a backup file from Settings. The file contains your One Job data, and it goes wherever you choose to send or save it, such as the Files app, AirDrop or an email. Once it leaves the app, it’s handled by the service you chose and that service’s privacy policy applies. I never receive a copy unless you send one to me yourself.
Your iPhone’s own iCloud or computer backups may include One Job’s data, the same as any other app. Those backups are managed by Apple and by you.
Deleting your data
Because your data is only on your device, you’re in control of it. Deleting One Job from your iPhone removes its data and its widgets’ data. Any backup files you exported stay where you saved them until you delete them.
Information from Apple
If you’ve chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone’s settings (Settings, Privacy & Security, Analytics & Improvements), Apple may give me crash reports and general usage figures, such as how many people installed the app. Apple removes information that identifies you before I see it. You can turn this off at any time in the same setting.
If you download an app from the App Store or TestFlight, Apple handles that under its own privacy policy. If you’re a TestFlight tester, Apple shares your name and email address with me so I can invite you, and any feedback or screenshots you choose to send through TestFlight come to me.
Children
The apps aren’t aimed at children, and they don’t knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
Future versions of the apps may add features that change how data is handled, such as syncing One Job across your own devices through your private iCloud account, or sharing a household’s jobs between people. If that happens, I’ll update this policy before the feature is released and change the date at the top. An app won’t start sending your data anywhere new without telling you first.
Questions and complaints
If you have a question about this policy or your privacy, email me at hello@numbatnudge.com.
If you’re unhappy with how I’ve handled your information, please email me first so I can put it right. If I don’t, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
